Managed Timber Evergreen, Alabama

Picture
The Stowers family lands has a very long, and also very rich history. The property and lands are operated by the Stowers family from many decades ago, since 1928. From the very beginning, the property was all about the nature, and wildlife. That has stayed the same. Another thing that stayed the same is the timber production.

When it comes to timber production on the Stowers family lands, in the past, those were mostly hardwoods and pine. For many years, the property was the working farm, with different activities included. The things have changed a bit in 1981, when the property was converted to 100 % planted pines. However, the hardwood is still around, but not in all the areas. Mostly, it can be found in the bottom lands, and in the creek beds as well. All that is a great addition and compliment for the rich wildlife at the Stowers family lands.

One of the most important tasks, when it comes to timber production, is keeping the timber in proper rotation. The rotation and replanting has always been the key to the timber stands. Other activities, in which the great effort was put, are thinning, clearing and burning, which produced the beautiful panorama all around the family land, wildlife and trees. The best way to experience the beauty of the property, rich wildlife, and astonishing nature is by visiting all the treasure for yourself. One thing is certain, the ponds, trees, and landscapes will take your breath away, and as soon as you step into the property, you will experience a true enjoyment.
